Keeping IT Legal
What We Do
Data Protection & Compliance
Keeping your sensitive data secure is a concern for every organization. Proper handling of proprietary business information and confidential customer data is essential. Violation of federal and state data protection laws can result in fines and civil liability. The Ossian Law approach is to assist clients in implementing policies and procedures toward compliance and the proper steps to take in the event of an incident, including meeting various breach notification requirements.
Information Technology policies are vital to the operation of your business. Privacy policies should convey your organization’s actual practices with respect to data use, retention and sharing of customers’ personally identifiable information. Effective policies need to address business use of social media, device management (including both corporate owned and personal devices used to conduct business) and confidentiality, just to name a few. The Ossian Law approach is to thoughtfully tailor policies to achieve clients’ specific goals and needs.
